O/T...What`s In Your Dream Garage ?

And no....I don`t mean your favourite strimmer,if money was no object, pick 5 cars to go in there.

    As a car nut,I`d struggle with just 5,but here`s mine,for today anyway !

1....E Type Jag,probably a late series 2 convertible in red.

2.De Tomaso Pantera, loved since I was a kid,no sure why,but I think one featured in the Gum Ball rally film, perfect super car,Italian looks with American muscle car oily bits.

3.Mini Cooper S,one of the last ones from 1970,stronger mechanically, and faster.

4.Ferrari Testarosso,in Rosso red with creme interior, the best of the 80`s supercars, just make sure someone else has spent all the money on it first !

    5.Mercedes 500 SL,an early 80`s example in a good colour,the last great Merc,built to last forever,looks amazing,loads of cutting edge technology,and now buyable for less than 10 grand.....bargain.

    What`s in yours ?

In no particular order and not to repeat any of the above:

    1. Austin Healey 3000 - 2 Tone Blue/White

    2. Ferrari 250 GTE Californian Spyder 60/61

    3. Ford GT40

    4. Porsche Cayman 3.4S Flat 6 - I really should buy one.

    5 Aston Martin DB6

    Special mention:

Mazda MX5 - MKI to MKIII - Talking of bargains. You can get a decent one for around ?6k up and relatively cheap to run.

    TLC, great thread!

For starters, the garage would have to be electronically heated to protect my stock of course.

    1. Running back to yesteryear I would always have to include a Mini. My first car was a Mini 850cc RYG 434F and I loved it. Of my choice of classics, it would have to be specifically a John Cooper S works Mini 64, if any one it would have been Paddy Hopkirks 1964 works Cooper S, a tiny 90 bhp but it kicked everyone's arse in the Monte Carlo rally of that year. Classic Mini's are and will always be loved.

    2. Not just any Aston Martin but a ONE -77. THE ULTIMATE ASTON MARTIN
Fusing advanced technology with stunning design, the million-pound, 7.3 litre V12 One-77 was revealed as the fastest-ever Aston Martin, with a top speed of 220 mph. It represents what is possibly the world's most desirable automotive art form, with an immensely rigid lightweight carbon fibre monocoque clad in a seamless bodyshell handcrafted from aluminium at its heart. A true beauty if ever there had to be ONE only.

    3. 2014 - FERRARI FXX-K. There's sleek then power but when you combine them both.....what a stunningly beautiful car. Enough said.

    4. Rolls Royce Ghost [Series II] . They maybe BMW owned but Rolls Royce to me is synonymous of anything ENGLAND. This monster of a car
oozes opulence and one you would probably use only on your best days out, Ascot, Regattas etc if you are into that kind of thing.
Having one of these in your collection speaks for itself.

    5. American choice would have to be a 1961 Chevrolet Corvette C1 Restomod 350 V8. The style makes you think Italian looking at the grill but the badge gives it all away. For me, far better than a 66 Corvette. It looks a monster of a car and has that animal come race me look while still looking cool if you cruised at at 30 mph.

Not fussed about cars etc - however - my ideal garage would have lots of space and peace and quiet at all times

Not really a car fanatic or one who drools over them but here's my basic (and probably very boring) choices.

    1. Nostalgic British choice. MK1 Ford Escort. Probably crap but loved seeing them on the rallying scene in the 70s.
    2. Pulling choice. Like Howdy probably an Austin Healey as I'm a bit old for a Porsche (and for pulling).
    3. Utility choice. Had a 20+ year old Ford F150 4x4. Great in snow and for carting crap around. Only paid $2.5K for it so never worried about hitting anything else (although I never did).
    4. 1960s Shelby Mustang. Something to make a noise and annoy the neighbours.
    5. Any big old classic US saloon of the 1950s to cruise around in.
