It was an otherworldly goal of premier league quality scored by Abdul Fatawu that won the game for Leicester as he stole a march on Josh Edwards.
Charlton can't be too disappointed with the result. The team put in lots of endeavour and commitment just failing to find the finishing touch.
First half - there were chances from Sonny Carey and Rob Apter with Conor Coventry coming closest from an unleashed 35-yard effort forcing Stolarczyk to push the ball over the bar.
In the second half, the Add1cks continued to ask questions of their opponents with a succession of corners and headers from Jones and Kayne Ramsay before Fatawu scored.
Charlton continued to press; Campbell and Sonny Carey had efforts blocked and Rob Apter forced a save from Leicester GK Stolarczyk who was later named man of the match.
Jones hit the back of the net but his goal effort was disallowed and finally Campbell headed over just before full-time.
Leicester goal: Fatawu 48
Starman- Conor Coventry.
