    Would you sell...

I'm already bored of all our players being linked away to everyone.

Gordon to Arsenal and again Liverpool after last summer's PSR embarrassment.

The Liverpool link as reared it's ugly head once again.

I'm no fan of the idea of selling him. This season hasn't been his best TBH, I think he will admit that. Doesn't mean that he's not gonna kick on and be a quality player for NUFC for many years.

That aside, with the rumours circulating about this Gittens kid.

I wanted to ask the question.

Would you cash-in on Gordon for 80m and sign Gittens for the 95m he's supposed to be valued at?

I don't know enough about the lad. He could be the next Dortmund Bellingham, Haaland.. or he could be the next Sancho...

Is it a case of better the devil ya know? or is it an upgrade?

    Thoughts?

I've not heard of this Gittens fella...who does he play for?

I would only sell Gordon if he wanted to go, I wouldn't be looking to actively sell him.

I do wonder if us trying to sell him to Liverpool last Summer has got into his head (and I wouldn't blame him if that was the case, tbf) and that's affected his form.

Gordon defo seems to have been off form psychologically since the club tried to use him, hastily as a make weight to fix the PSR deficit.

Can't blame the lad, that must hurt after the season he had with us. Also, being a Liverpool fan. However, his Bezzi Mate is off to Real Madrid.

Gittens is English and supposed to be the real deal, got the tag of 'Generational Talent.' A term I was unfamiliar with until this season now we're awash with Generational talents... thought they were supposed to be scarce?

Anyway he is class. 20 yrs old, 4 yrs Gordon's Junior.

Below Gordon is in blue, Gittens green

Gordon lost all form as soon as Liverpool were linked with him, hes had a very poor season from what we have seen he can produce..

Gittens I like, hes fast and direct, however I feel he would see us as a stepping stone, not that that is a bad thing but why would we pay nearly 100m when we could try and unearth 2 or 3 players like him for that kind of money.. thats what we need to do this summer, bring in prospects and maybe one or 2 marquee type players, we have the first squad of quality, we need to add depth

I think there is more to Gordon than the Liverpool link.

He was also called up to England - yet clearly unwanted by Southgate and barely played.
He got injured for us - played through and made it worse.
Missed the cup final - something every player wants to be in.
Got injured again - then lost his place to Barnes.
He had a kid in late 2023 - which means this season he has had to deal with all the trials and tribulations of a 1-year old.

Yes the Liverpool linked didn't help but it wasn't by any means the only thing.

Would I sell for ?80 million, only if he wanted to go and I'd want more on top of that to be honest.

Would I look to sell, to replace with Gittens - no I wouldn't, I'd rather have Gordon who knows hte system.

Sancho was meant to be a generational talent at Dormund but look how that has gone.

    Indeed Jam-a-troniko!

This is what I'm wrestling with. Is this Gittens lad a player who will be levels above Gordon? Is the upheaval worth it?

    I just don't know.

I concur with all your points about Gordon. He's a very cerebral player and no doubt all those points have had a detrimental impact on the young lad.

No doubt he'll come back stronger, fitter, mentally and emotionally stronger than ever.
