    Nat Phillips

From John Percy ( very rarely wrong)
wba are close to signing Liverpool centre-back Nat Phillips in a permanent deal. Phillips has one year left on his #lfc contract and was on loan at Derby last season. West Brom's new head coach Ryan Mason working on other signings ahead of this week's return to pre-season

An excellent signing if it goes through!

Rumours about our interest in him have been around for a while but he is obviously attracting attention from other clubs too so this would be a bit of a coup if we can pull it off. Acquiring a decent central defender to play alongside Heggem has surely got to be one of our top priorities this transfer window (along with a more energetic and creative midfielder) and Phillips would seem to fit the bill. Really hope it comes off, though I also read somewhere that Kipre may be available -maybe worth exploring if it doesn't?

Liverpool Echo reporting he is at ours having a medical. Excellent first signing if it goes through which it looks like it will

He impressed in a back 3 last season. He looks physical enough to be in the back 2 provided he can read the game well. Overall I think this is good business.

Only just seen it on the Albion site myself and agree with you Matt, a good bit of business. I know many will be worried about our striker options but personally I think our next priority is to find a more creative and pacier midfielder

Excellent signing, pairing with Heggem will be great, now for a right and left back, creative midfielder and a forward,

Absolutely right. Additional benefits being the inevitable improved team spirit that will immediately be created with a Heggem - Philips partnership.
