No, not the football but The 2026 Grand National.
I'll not copy and paste all the stats available about the runners and riders 'cos my shoulders are aching after a good few days digging and tidying up my garden.
Have I already mentioned the issue I have had with piles? That's been dealt with now.

As an aside, I wonder if any footballers have been sidelined because of piles?

Can you imagine it?

With that thought in mind let's look at what's on offer in the Grand National.

Two outsiders to watch out for in the betting market. Both are Willie Mullins horses, with Captain Cody beneath the 11st threshold and Lecky Watson above it.

The former is a Scottish National winner who has been trained for the race and forget his no-show in the influential Bobbyjo Chase last time as heavy ground was no good to him. It takes an unforgiving nature to trust Lecky Watson who has achieved next to nothing this season.

However, he was a Grade 1-winning novice, and second-season chasers have a terrific record. This marathon trip could be right up his street.
Others horses are available to back.
I'm going for Top of the Bill each way.

Panic Attack has just been made favourite for the National.
PA is a mare.
Only one other mare has ever won this marathon race.

Well it was the Big One that won The Grand National 2026.

Bit cryptic but it was I Am Maximus.
Drifted in the betting and was as much as 8/1 yesterday afternoon. Shortened to 9/2 at the off. Some of my friends took the 8/1.
Anyway who would back a 125/1 shot against the legend that is I Am Maximus?

The winner in modern times 2nd now behind Red Rum going on wins & being placed. Then Tiger Roll. The race as changed the emphasis now isn't so much on jumping so the better class of horse comes more to the fore.
