    Two Metre Messi

Hey all. Thought I'd check in from my regular 3 year sabbatical.

I know it's early days but I've got a good feeling about big Nick.

Reminds me of a young me (although he can finish much better no doubt).

Squad definitely looks more rounded this season. Money has been invested well.

I reckon Gyokeres might struggle to 20 goals in all comps. He's not as good as he looked in Portugal I'd suggest.

Sesko has gone into an absolute mess of a club and he'll be dragged down in the same was as Hojlund/Antony etc have.

We MAY have got the best deal all told.

    Thoughts?

Time will tell mate, but I feel positive about this lad. A massive ceiling of potential and slick skills and how great did it feel to see a goal scored via a cross and header?

The Arsenal lad is decent and in a good team but Sesko has found himself in a heap of shiite at OT of his own making long may it continue.

Look what the cat dragged in?

Long time no see Nodge. Been a while indeed. Nice to see HMS Nodger pulling back into port after a long voyage you salty old sea dodge.

    How's it going?

Your fame for sporting the Rudi Völler tash and rat tail is celebrated nationally! haha

All the strikers who were part of the Media Circus during the transfer window have gone to 'Top teams' what that means is they have more pressure and expectations.

Man U are no long a team they're a Football theme park, tourists exit through the gift shop. It's done for them. The Theatre of dreams is now the graveyard of ambition and talent.

Arsenal will always be Arsenal and bottle it around March as usual after a bruising Christmas period. Gyokeres flatters to deceive. We'll have to see if the man has the minerals deliver when the pressure is on. Time will tell. He's not done anything to prove himself at this point.

Right at the start of the window, I posted that Woltemade was rumoured the top target to compliment 14. However, word was that it was Bayern, signed, seal and delivered.

Then came the Joao Pedro links started. Leading on to the trail of unsuccessful targets only for Nick to become available at the end.

14 left which was not planned, the club had planned for this being his last season and going next year. He's a PoS.

However, silver lining is that the noise around him really was a blessing in disguise. Every signing came in without fanfare. No pressure on them. Everyone, underwhelmed by the signings will only be pleasantly surprised.

All the 'problem positions' GK, RW, ST all improved and strengthened. 'The Squad Floor' (loath these new buzz phrases)
    has definitely been raised.

We are in a much better situation where injuries from a few players are scuppering the progress required to sustain a competitive edge across all competitions this season.

    Good to see you Nodge.

I think we've bought well, hopefully he's started as he means to go on. I think if we feed him, he'll score and we've def got the players to feed him. Once him and Tonali truely get on the same wavelength will be tasty. . . added to that you have Wissa who is prem ready and obviously desperate to be here.

Gyokeres couldn't do it in the Championship, I don't think he'll do it here - he'll score but I don't think he'll be some amazing player that wins Le Arse the league.

Nice to see you on, Nodge,

Aye, it could turn out that way, what with one thing and another. I think we've bought well although I think we lack a bit of creativity centrally.

Woltemade is something different. Hard to say just from one game, but I liked what I saw.

Thanks for the welcome back folks.

    All good salient points generally.

Last night was a bit odd. I felt we looked nervous through the middle and up front especially. Right wing worked well but MW and CF were just not right. Gordon ain't a striker and Barnes is out of form. Midfield had chances to play the right ball but all 3 and the subs failed at times to do this.

By the time Big Nick got involved, the game had got away from us a bit too far. Hopefully he's gonna get fully match fit quikcly!

Gordon is totally useless up front. I get the idea, that hes good at pressing, but with all our striker out of the equation I'm not convinced hes the best option.

And I hope the plan for Woltemessi is to play him as a no9. This false 9 shoite with the wingers running in behind wont work for us. Our wingers score too little for that kind of tactic, I think.
