    Ryder Cup

It rarely disappoints in recent years. Eight of the 11 singles matches played today went down the 18th. USA nearly pulled off one of the greatest fightbacks in golfing history. Trailing by 7 points after the fourball/foursomes matches the USA came within a whisker of an outright win before finally going down to a 13-15 defeat. An epic contest spoilt only really by the boorish behaviour of some of the partisan home spectators. GB/Europe won just ONE of the 11 matches on the final day but some crucial halved games saw them finally claim victory.

Yes,those foul mouthed and disgusting USA fans got their just desserts as the Yanks took one hell of a beating ..
The European team created a record by winning all fourball/foursome sessions and then they relaxed in the singles session togive the smarmy Yanks a sporting chance 👌

I think the European lads and their wives were thoroughly worn out with the abuse Alfie. I can only condemn the Yanks for disrespecting the game of golf with their obnoxious behaviour throughout the tournament, particularly during the trophy presentation ceremony.

A lot like a reflection of their odious President - NO CLASS.

I think outwood something will have to be done now about the foul mouthed yanks ( that’s not aimed at the players by the way ).

I watched from the get go and they were specifically targeting Rory stupid noises and heckling on his back swing , once we got a foothold in the contest they did it more until they realised that they would have to up their game and attack his wife- child with slander and horrible comments until eventually they provoked him enough to get him fired up and off his game and I think this unsettled his team mates.

Banter yes we’re all for and on the first tee etc but in my eyes they will have to do something about this now

The saving grace is we won and rightly so in the end

I’m a little disappointed that Bradley or the players didn’t say something about it as I think that would have had some impact and forced the authorities to put some safeguards in place - the sad thing is it may carry on in 2 years as not to be outdone they’ll be somebody here out for revenge.

MAGA hats, potty mouths and beer throwing thugs have no place on a golf course, but in Trump's world anything goes. McIlroy was drained by the abuse. If that's sport, the Yanks can shove it up their arses.

Trump Derangement Syndrome. No known cure.

It's beer talking and it's been happening for 30 years at least, no matter who the president is/was.

This was off the chart sinkov. I've been to two Ryder Cups here and a Masters in Augustus and the Yanks were polite and knowledgeable despite wanting their sides to win.

This was football hooliganism brought to golf on a grand scale. Quite frankly it was without precedent. When the USPGA had to deploy State troopers to protect McIlroy and Lowry on a golf course the tournament needs scrapping.

The lack of condemnation from the Orange Buffoon says all that needs to be said mon ami. Europe won, go phuck yourselves America.

Competition is a wonderful element in life. However, so is respect.

As a golfer, where respect for the rules and for oneself in implementing those rules is paramount, I find this element of the Ryder Cup sickening. The last few days have shown no respect for the game, the players and their families.

I agree with BT and others that it is symptomatic of wider issues. However, the steady deterioration of US crowd behaviour preceded Trump. It is too simplistic to lay it all at Trump’s door. However, he should be the first to openly condemn it.

Sadly, it isn't just golf that experiences this poor behaviour. It has become more prevalent throughout the world and is very much a societal problem. Many people have no respect for anything or anybody, therefore, they are lacking in self-respect. Without self-respect you are a lost cause to society and it isn't going to get any better as far as I can see.

The behaviour at the Ryder Cup is appalling but par for the course, so to speak, and while the TV companies do their share of tut-tutting, they give the attention seeking halfwits as much publicity as they can and are as culpable as anyone for the rancid atmosphere.

None of the above alters my opinion that the President of the USA is absolutely blameless for the moronic behaviour, and anyone who thinks he is needs treatment for TDS, except that of course there is no treatment or cure for said affliction.
