    Swansea v Derby

    Swansea v Derby, Tue 25 Nov, 19:45
Two tough games this week against in form teams, home to Derby and away to West Brom on Saturday.
Derby have been in excellent form winning five straight matches until last Saturday, where they slipped up at home 2-3 to Watford, a late penalty deciding matters.
Cabango and Tymon are available again after a one match suspension to boost the defence, which was cruelly exposed in a 3-0 defeat at Bristol on Saturday. Schoolboy defending for all three goals.
Our new leader Vitor Matos and his three man coaching team take over the reins on Monday morning. New brush sweeps clean, so O’Dea, Stearman, O’Leary and Margetson jobs are on the line. Let’s hope he can bring renewed impetus and vim to the players, who gave in so easily as he watched on from the stands in horror at Ashton Gate.
A massive job in hand for them, and JA are hoping they can make an immediate impact, new manager boost often works, initially at least.
Will our absent fans, who left in droves disappointed with ‘Sheehan’ football, come back for this one on a cold Tuesday night in November?
I doubt it but if Matos can start winning games with attractive football they will return.
The warning signs of what was to come were there in the pre-season friendlies, losing to lower league opposition and it just continued into the league matches. The driving force behind Sheehan at the end of last season, assistant head-coach Mark Fotheringham left in June.
Darren O’Dea replaced him and it was downhill thereafter.
Sheehan’s record this season was abysmal and his job became untenable
    Pos19 P15 W4 D5 L6 F15 A19 Pts17, for a win percentage of just 26.67%.
See you there on Tuesday night!

    Swansea 1 (Galbraith 90’) - Derby 2 (Ward 34’, Salvesen 53’)
After a much improved first half of dominance with 73% possession we succumbed to a sucker punch counter attack. Yet again we were wide open on our right with Ronald and Key in no mans land as has happened so many time this season, the ball crossed, Ward heads in.
Second-half was a different story with Derby all over us, their high-press and five man defence nullifying anything Swans could muster. It took them only eight minutes to score again and seal the win. Derby were more aggressive, slowed the game down and controlled the play. Weak refereeing assisted them by ignoring their blatant time-wasting. We pulled a late goal back but it didn’t mask the fact that we were totally outplayed. Worrying times.

There’s no doubt we are in the brown stuff after this one sided encounter. Plenty of possession first half yes, but we created hardly any goal chances
Second-half Derby dominated and deserved the win.
Allen and Britton gave temporary assistance on the touchline but it made no difference (O’Dea and Fotheringham having left the building and with Matos coaching team waiting for work permits).
A few days for Matos to install some of his coaching ideas before we travel to West Brom on Saturday, but it’s not looking good.

Iolo here. Here’s my take on it. How many times have we seen our players bullied of the ball. Again last night, pretty football first half, one chance and Derby score with their winger unmarked to cross for unmarked Ward to head the ball home with Eom watching on.
Second half we conceded early, Cabango gifting the ball to Salvesen in front of goal and there was no way back.
We created very little, Swansea MOTM Galbraith scoring a late consolation goal, too little too late.
What can we do? We have to be more aggressive and we have to be more creative in the final third.
Teams have sussed how weak we are on both flanks and this needs sorting asap.
