I remember him more as a swashbuckling midfielder alongside Trevor Brooking who made West Ham play whilst Bonds made sure the other team didn't. Great character.

Before my time to be honest, but my dad was most complimentary. He loved the players and the game of his younger days, more so than today’s game.

As I have said before about the players of yesteryear, they were made of sturdier stuff and were, generally, more down to earth.

Difficult one as managers need a bit of luck, get fans on their side with exciting football and develop players especially youngsters.

For me Darren Moore has been a big disappointment at Management and Port Vale are rock bottom with some supporters calling for his head. Bradford were promoted with Port Vale and playing great football and up there near the top!

I like the fact Greening has gone back to the bottom to learn his trade and a bit like Derek McInnes. Mason has zero experience at management and it’s showing!
