And the torture goes on ....

... as hope remains after a great win today. If only they'd played half as well on Friday! Really good performances all over the pitch, particularly Holicek, Sanders and Billington, though of course Tezgel got MoM for the goal - and might on another day have had 4, though he didn't finish them perfectly. On another day we'd have been regretting missed chances, but fortunately Salford didnt bring their finishing boots.

Yes a good display and special mention to Holicek, who I've previously given some stick to. How Tezgel didn't come away with a hat-trick, I'll never know. The one against the bar from 2 yards out just needed a touch not a hammer. March also guilty when their goalkeeper blundered. March had a clear view of goal (I was right in line!) but he chose to switch feet and the chance was gone. Still at least there were shots. Not enough of those all season, too many extra touches.
O'Reilly looks really knackered and really must learn that you can't blast a ball through a player standing one yard in front of you.
Thought Billington had another really good game and was particularly impressed with his involvement immediately before the goal.
So only 4 wins out of the last 4 games needed!

Holicek looks better every game. I can't help marvelling at the 50/50 (and sometimes less favourable odds) challenges he makes and comes out with the ball and sets up another attack. He is still young and consistency is something all the young players struggle with. We were easily 3 goals better than Salford and we can lament the performance on Friday which by all accounts was poor from everyone. realistically I don't expect us to make the playoffs but the club is gaining a reputation for good recruitment so I would expect us to be there or thereabouts next season.
