Barnsley fc regional highlights

In 1968 the ITV regons strated showing highlights for the first time as you can imagine each region focused on their own teams for e.g Yorkshires main sides at the time , Leeds, Sheff United, Granada Man u & City etc.
It wasn't until the 29th of March 1969 that Barnsley were featured in a game against Tranmere Rovers at Oakwell.
As we struggled into the next decade Barnsley only featured a few times untill the early 80s where we became a major attraction for YTV.
Below is a full list of our appearances untill reagonalised football came to a end.

Tha reyt. John Helm. Ad forgotten abart him. He sounded genuinely excited abart aar goals. That Doog commentated on later games--used to say "Chance" ivvery few seconds in a Jim McDonald Irish accent, so it was.
