Unbelievable QPR gifted two goals to WBA.
Unbelievable QPR gifted two goals to WBA.
Lucky lucky West Bromwich, I repeat one of my earlier threads, teams never roll over for us.
FFS..... Last minute of added on! Results were going our way up to a couple of weeks back...but turned around now sadly! We have to win games in the next couple.
It just got tighter at the top
Have tickets to the qpr game and we should destroy them they are so hopeless but ....
And we expected What?
Baggies are a point behind us and we have a game in hand. It's in our hands to do what needs to be done, we're not dependent upon other results to fall "kindly" unlike so many other times, just do what we know we can (and have done, repeatedly), and promotion is ours.
Naturally West Brom were favourites and most of us expected them to win. But the fact they got within a minute of dropping 2 points was frustrating. We all hope our fate is solely in our hands...but anyone totally believing that has too tight a grip on their appendag for mine!. A Leeds win will gain us 3 points. A loss to a fellow promotion seeker will be a 3 point deficit. BOTH could well have the same benefit in the end. I've seen many a time when a side has seemingly escaped relegation on the final day of the season, only to see a fellow relegation battler also win to still sink them. Try telling those clubs that other results don't have an impact. I certainly hope you are right in that Leeds will totally dictate this outcome...but I don't think that will be the case. I reckon we will need some sort of assistance before we get to the finish line. Only my opinion of course....
Yes, it was a bit of a kick in the gonads that they got all three points and with a last minute goal, but if it had been Leeds, we'd be as cock-a-hoop as the Baggies fans were. Our fate IS our hands, if we win all games between now and the end of the season, we get automatic promotion, and thats nothing to do with holding my scrotum too tight!
Will we, who knows, but we sure as hell ought not to be even thinking that others might help us (accidentally or otherwise). They will try not to, and may or may not succeed, we can do nothing about it either way.
The point about a relegation scenario is very different, then there are others below you who might scrape a last minute escape. We have the possibility of finishing top, all we have to do is win more than all the others, (if not every game), simples!
There have been plenty of posts here throughout the season referring to the fact that we need not fear any side in the Championship. with the squad we have, why should that change? There are several players who are coming back from injury, some who need game time to get back to full fitness/performance, and others who will be out for the rest of the season, what has changed?
Faith in Bielsa, and what he and his team can do with the squad we have (yes, including Casilla ). Failure is not an option.
