Starting to feel like 14/15 again

My heart still says we'll reach the playoffs but no longer my head

The only greater crime than missing out on the playoffs would be missing out despite going into the last game with destiny in our own hands, but I have a horrible feeling we're heading for just that, we the team cannot truly believe in itself against ANY opposition at the moment.

At least we turned up today and had a go unlike last week. Harsh reality is that they are a better side than us.

On a side note could Burton pull off the impossible?

And if you think it's tough supporting us spare a thought for the mackems

Be some stadium in that division

Cant see us getting another point
Cardiff and Villa to win fairly comfortably and Barnsley still fighting relegation so they will be up for the fight.

Never thought of it like that. Stadium of Light in the first division?
WOW, you couldn't make that up or think of it 5 years ago

Worse than the 2014/15 season by a mile

At least in 2014/15 we kinda went down in flames, scored a truck load of goals but couldn't defend, we had a good go at it but it just wasn't to be.

This season we're going down hoisting the white flag, don't ever look like scoring and we are just utter dire to watch.

5 defenders and 2 holding mids at home..... that is pretty fu**ing bad

I agree with you on this point, also we now know we can't defend so against Cardiff we need an attacking formation but have we the players to do it. If we try and defend for a draw against Cardiff it will be game over in the first 20 minutes. Just go out for goals we've nothing to lose now!

As usual teams this season have run through our midfield as if it never existed and ran one on one with the GK, to put it back in the net
and at times we have easily been open on the flanks to leaves our defences wide open it’s appalling.

We gone from having a top defence and keeping clean sheets and playing fantastic football and getting everything tactically right, to going back to square one and completely lost any sense of realisation of where to go next it’s mind boggling.

As someone once said, there are lies, dmaned lies and then there are statistics.

The truth behind these particular statistics is that the 2 wing backs gave us a better attacking option by acting as wingers. We also had the 2 attacking midfielders with only Hudds as DM. That led to 16 shots which is a high tally for us of late. 7 of those were on target so, although we played a lot of "defenders", we actually played a more attacking game.

Yes, we lost but I actually enjoyed watching the football a lot more than I have lately. Defensive errors undid us. A similar setup against Cardif, cut out the errors and, Please, Pretty Please Derby, no more of this zonal marking and backing off the opposition. Press, harry. It's what Boro did to us and it worked well for them. They gave us absolutely no time on the ball so couldn't play well. We gave them acres of time and space and they exploited it.
