    Euro Championships

Not any talk on here about this major tournament. England v Iceland game was the best entertainment I have seen since the last time they exited. Now for the serious stuff and down to the last eight . Belgium have been impressive and surely Wales run comes to an end now . International giants Italy and Germany look powerful as usual and although Portugal have not been good to watch, they have an ability to tough games out . Any other opinions out there ?

Hard to believe Portugal still haven't won a game over 90 minutes yet find themselves in the semi-finals .

Haven't been that impressed with this tournament so far , it's nothing compared to the World Cup in Brazil 2014

The Welsh to give Belgium a little fright tonight ??? You never know

The Welsh can go into that semi final with Portugal with absolutely nothing to lose unlike their opponents. If they play with the same level of commitment, passion and freedom that they displayed again Belgium then they can beat what has been a poor Portuguese side to progress to the final. Then who knows what they can achieve after that.

What a result and what a performance from the Welsh . We can only sit and watch as they continue to improve and move forward as a team whilst Strachan refuses to play our youngsters and picks over the hill players like Scott Brown , Darren & Steven Fletcher , Alan Hutton etc . It's time we gave youth a chance to mature and gel as a team , just like the Welsh

I have to agree johnny and the lame Scottish excuse "that we are a small nation" has been firmly put in its place by both Wales and Iceland at these championships. Need to give the youth the opportunity as you so rightly say as some currently playing for the team are clearly over the hill.

I am firmly in the Strachan should NEVER have got another contract. This was' reward' for effectively finishing fourth in a ' four' man group . Equally to blame are the Tartan Army who sung Strachan's praises , pleading for him to be kept on while beating the mighty Gibraltar. Yes, the SFA could well have been swung by this knowing the Scotland fans were behind him for God knows what . As has been said, he has played people who have no long term future and no real ability anyway. An ideal point was the selection of experienced players in the games against France and Italy . Why, oh why , oh why Gordon ? What use was thus when you could have blooded youngsters in a no pressure situation. For me, he should be gone .

Fully concur JR - The main problem is we don't have enough qualified coaches in Scotland and there is not enough emphasis on fitness and diet - the drink culture must also be dealt with - lookout for a BBC Scotland feature on TV due to be screened in August which looks at the poor state of Scottish football - It's no coincidence that Scottish football has been on the decline since Souness barged on to the scene with the big signings of overpaid over the hill players at Rangers !

I think he's beginning to regret is decision to say . Since signing a new contract he's even more negative in his interviews and not playing certain youngsters in friendlies was a joke . They'll not gain experience against the best players in the world sitting on the bench

Whatever happened to Strachan's idea that would change the face of Scottish football ...?

doesnt matter whos in charge atm ,yes theres a few decent younger players about ready for the step up but all the decent yins seem to be attacking mids ,scotlands trouble for me is the central defence ,we have nothing decent there and looking right thru scottish football i cant even see any dominant central defenders coming thru ,the defence was our strong point for many years but now theres nothing .
