Does TS honestly know anything about the beautiful game?

I say this in a non disrespectful way but as an observation..... why rely so much on Managers ....Redfearn ...Evans even Warnock to say who's good/bad?

Surely by now he's followed the game long enough ..... I know Richard as... to understand who's who in the football world and what is the right price to pay if you want success...

Modest speculation brings accumulation and rewards....surely Tony's a modest gambling man ..... if you know of his story approaching Barclays Bank for his loan to start his buisness that was a massive gamble and he's proven himself very well indeed..

I just wonder who is saying no to the deals?

I firmly believe we should have got Gregory and Bradshaw over the line and now being well prepared for the coming season...

Will Tony blame Stubbs if it all goes pear shaped with the statement ' I didn't say no.....Stubbs did' ?

Looks like Saturday's game against Wolves, us Millers fans will have to be the new signing, by getting behind the team, until the manager & technical team get some new blood in.

no I don't think he knows enough about football but he is a smashing business man who gives a dam about the club if he didn't he wouldn't show the passion and plan for the future like he is doing. This is why I firmly believe we need a director of football like warnock to help give Tony advice. If he was then he may have told Tony to match barnsleys offer (we will never know)

Good shout Chris but with Warnock walking away I don't feel TS could work with him again....too much pride in the way....

Brin, you're always a thoughtful and interesting poster but why the "disrespectful" bit. I don't respect club chairmen - ever. They have their own agendas and all I want from them is a decent level of investment.

Monty I feel I have to doff my cap to a man who without him I may not have been posting this thread as my club may never have existed...a modicum of respect that's all it is..,

Now on to business will we stay up? My heart says yes my gut feelings say no at this stage....you?

Fair enough, Brin. It may be a difference of semantics anyway. A lifetime in industrial relations means I don't like bosses. Period. As a famous black American Civil War politician said: "If there's anything worse than an evil slave owner then it's a good slave owner."
As to this season, you may remember I backed us to go down last season and attracted quite a bit of flack on here. But the way things are shaping up I have to say relegation looks nailed on (but I won't be having a bet!)

Too early to tell at the moment we had a situation just like this last year only it was the goal keeper that we urgently needed and then came camp and I felt so much better about our chances

Good business bloke, not enough football knowledge, I don't believe he's a liar so if he says Stubbs says no then I beleive that to be correct.

Yes I said we wouldn't get Bradshaw and glad we didn't pay over the odds
