How bad will it be if we don't sign a striker/centre forward come the 31st?

Stubbs must be pulling all the stops out to land a proven goal scorer but the clock is ticking towards lock down....

Some may say Brown is a forward but even he admits he's a winger..this may see him employed as an upfront man which may affect his game.... we can but wait and see...

The season long loan of Brown will have taken a chunk out of the wage budget so unless TS comes up with something substantial and we don't land a proven scorer then we may well struggle all season?

    Tic toc as they say....

Difference between stopping up. Need 2 to cover injuries. No loan window, can only get out of contract players. They're not out of contract for no reason. Left back another priority.

Agree with gwru, we need two strikers, preferably a powerful centre forward and a mobile type to play off him.
Our current strike force will be nowhere near good enough to get enough goals to keep us up.
Hopefully AS will bring the quality in that he's always banging on about.

We can't afford one never mind two,20 goals a season forward in this league 5 to 10 million 20 grand a week so that's us out.

Where has anyone said anything about a 20 goal per season proven Championship striker?
We know we can't afford anyone in that class but there are strikers out there who would probably get 10 goals or more per season who would certainly fall within our price range.
Don't forget, we had a player who got that many per season and those goals helped us to stay up twice.
For reasons best known to himself the manager let him go to Cyprus and now seems to be struggling to replace him

I could name a dozen multi-million pound strikers bought unproven for peanuts from overseas and lower leagues. It's called "scouting" and we ought to try it some time. It would of course help if the club did not adopt their usual approach for public relations reasons blabbing about potential signings and getting gazumped by the likes of Barnsley, Oxford, Fleetwood and Forest Green.

A lad who works for me is a Tyke.

He's obviously buzzing his boots off and rightly so.

He says Tom Bradshaw was brilliant last night.

A real shame we didn't get that deal over the line.

I think we will end up with Lee Gregory to be honest.

Hopefully if we do, he does the business.

I think Gregory is better than Bradshaw plus Gregory's played in this league before.

No two ways about it we need a striker or 2 or we're in massive trouble, the club should be working 24/7 now until the market closes to make sure we get at least 1.

I don't think we have a chance of getting in a 20 goal a season striker, at this level. I agree, with others who say we need 2 really. Alan Stubbs has said our latest signing is good for competition in central midfield, but why doesn't that apply to up front or say left back? I am getting seriously worried there will be no attacking arrivals come 11pm August 31st, then we are f****d
