    That ref....

....think he deserves a thread to himself. Peter Wa nks I believe by name and nature. And where did 7 minutes come from at the end? Lets hope we dont get him again this season,no correction, ever. Not got a clue why he booked Brown, Mattock, Taylor or Fisher in the first place. Yet Forest were able to chop down Izzy at will with sod all given let alone a booking.

I mentioned on the game thread about him sending Halford off last time we had him so wasn't really surprised but he outdid himself today.

roly, Brown was booked for lipping off to the ref. Under the new rules brought out pre-season player's are not allowed to challenge the ref. The waving of imaginary yellow cards by player's & manager's is also not allowed. There's a whole boat load of new rules been brought out too many to mention. Thought Fisher's first booking was harsh but being on a yellow card by sliding in with the studs showing the ref had no option but to give him a second yellow, probably the only correct decision he got right all night. The ref was garbage.

Fisher took the ball cleanly and there was no way he should have received a second booking.
Incidentally, how are you supposed to make a sliding tackle without showing your studs? Surely it's a physical impossibility!

There looked to be no contact with the player for Fisher sending off, but ref was quite happy with Izzy Brown being tackled from behind/tripped throughout the game with little punishment for the Forest players - that's why he argued with the ref and ended up getting booked

Your missing a minor point mellow. If you slide in & take the ball clean you have to make sure you don't catch the player.
Not defending the ref because he was poor & that's putting it mildly. If the club think it was a legitimate tackle they can always object to the 2nd yellow but I doubt they will.

Pretty sure you can't appeal a second yellow leading to a sending off - only a straight red card. Unless the rule has change this season...

Yes Snowball you are right I am wrong.
The FA were asked to look into the 2 yellow card rule last season. Quite prepared to bring out rules & regs to protect referees but none to appeal when a ref may have called it wrong.
At least it's only a 1 match ban. Kelly to come in at Blackburn.
