    Wolves v Derby Matchday Thread

An early kick off, 12:30pm for this one. It seems like an eternity since our last league win over Brentford. Hopefully today that can be put right.

I'm not there today, suffering with the dreaded disease 'manflu'! Lesley has taken my ticket for her mate so I'm watching it on the telly in the warm, and with a bottle of brandy. I hope I'm only going to need the brandy for the cold rather than what I see on screen. I like the starting formation, it looks attack minded but I'd have gone for it with Dicko alongside Bod. I'd drop Tex for that and sacrifice Edwards for Seiss to equalise the defensive side with Dicko playing. I know that's a controversal call dropping Edwards but I feel apart from a lot of running around alot and the occasional goal he offers little else. I'd also have put Stearman alongside Batth ( actually I'd have dropped Batth too!).

Defensively we are shocking! Danny Batth is truly dreadful and Iorfa ain't far behind. No defensive midfielder so far tooeasy to pass through us and it doeasn't matter which full back position Docherty plays he always leaves to much space on the wings.

They nearly score a third from a header because Batth was the wrong side of his man again. That's four times and counting that he has made awful mistakes. I need another bottle of brandy!!!!!!

Our back four look like they have already been on the brandy.

We should be at least 4 down and Batth has hand in all their chances. Tex, or Edwards had to be sacrificed although not sure Saville is the answer. I'd have got Seiss on. We could get battered here!

Let's not mess around here. We are in serious trouble.

I've never seen a back four so inept.

Let's hope Lambert has the balls to drop the captain, drop...fek it, drop the whole back four.

After twenty minutes Derby look like the home side.

They are dire but they are quicker, technically superior with more ideas.

    Things need to change quickly.

It seems to be an ever recurring problem that Wolves only turn up for the second half of games so far this season. Today was no different if you ask me. Make no mistake about it Derby deserved their victory and the 3-2 final score flattered Wolves.

We can all pick faults in the manner that the first two goals were conceded and it's happening week in, week out. Lonergan makes the save for the first one, Ince with an easy finish. Out of the two first goals, i was more disappointed that three of our players were around Darren Bent in the build up, Batth, Iorfa and Doherty. Darren Bent took his goal well after the ball over the top, but the situation should have been dealt with. Only 2-0 at half-time and could easily have been five.

Teixeira may have felt hard done by in being substituted after just half an hour, but something had to change. I acknowledge the effort in the second half and felt it was improved. As soon as Wolves had pulled it back to 2-1 after good work from Bodvarsson and the finish by Costa, i always felt Derby had another goal in them. Some may think the penalty award was harsh, but there was contact, the same goes for the Ince incident in the Derby area on Cavaleiro. Referee's need to be consistent and today's ref wasn't. If he wards the Derby one, he should award Wolves one. Dave Edwards again popping up with a goal to pull another one back, but Wolves gave themselves a mountain to climb at 2-0 and 3-1 down. Even now i still can't believe how Vydra missed from close range.

A deserved victory or the away side and a massive job for the new head coach Paul Lambert.
