The Booing Of Wolves Captain Danny Batth

I made my feeling known at the game to quite a few supporters who thought it was clever to boo Batth for his part in the second goal, mocking his every touch for a good ten minutes after. I'm glad the boos turned to chanting his name not long after. Save the booing for the performance at half-time and full-time if need be, but i don't like to see any player singled out. It wasn't the majority, it was a small minority.

It may be a personal thing, people pay good money and all that, but it doesn't help any of the under-performing players. I don't rate him as a leader, but whilst he wears the clubs colours, he and all the others will get my support. Wolves fans are known for turning on players, it helps the opposition gain an advantage if you ask me. I was save my criticism for places like this.

    Rant over.

He's obviously not in good form. No doubt about it. But it's not like anybody in the back four has done well for themselves this season when it comes to defending.

To me, Batth is not the kind of player that will raise others' level of play. However, I believe that his play can be raised by another quality player paired with him. I think there will have to be a decision made come January in regards to CB play.

Yep we need our owners to put their money into an experienced in form CB who knows how to play at this frenetic pace of football. Not another Benfica wannabe! As for the booing I am glad that it is a dumb minority. Yes Batth has put in some poor performances but he is not on his own!!

Danny Batth is not a very good defender. He never has been and he never will be. It is not a case of finding a decent partner for him, it is a case of as long as he is in our back four we'll be a defensive disaster. He is an even worse captain. However, he shouldn't be booed for his clear inadequacies!

I never booed him , I just gave him both barrels , if he can play for, and captain Wolverhampton Wanderers then so can I.

OH BTW If I don't feel a player is worthy of the shirt I will let them know!!

The kid simply isn't a captain.

Nor is he a good central defender
In my opinion to be a captain you have to be in total control of your own game before you begin to shout to others about theirs, that ain't Batth.
I've never been one for the 'huddle' just before kick off. I believe it is purely to show the fans the player solidarity, it looks good.
Straying off topic a bit but I mentioned in the game against Blackburn that everyone and his dog at Sky Sports was critical of Wolves defending.
The same happened today, Don Goodman (who I actually like as a co commentator) called our defence "fragile".

Paul Lambert, I hope, has had a beady eye on the last couple of games and I am damn sure that if a **** like me can see the problems we have had at the back for longer than I care to remember, he can also see it and address it immediately.

Cav gave away a penalty that never was today but what the bloody hell was he doing there?
Did he feel the need to bolster the left back position? Dunno.

Anyway, frustrated post over but things need to change quick.

I don't care a flying fk how dire, boring, repetitive Paul Lambert is when he speaks, that has nothing to do with football.

I hope the circus ends now, let's get some stability and hopefully, results.

    brierly hi

Any good leader worth his salt should be able to organise, encourage and serve as a positive example to his fellow team mates, but rarely, particularly this season, has Batth displayed an ability to do any of these things. As a product of Wolves Academy one can understand the hopes and expectations of the fans for him to succeed at Molineux, which sometimes included their preparedness to overlook his deficiences and allow a certain latitude they might not extend to others. Born of frustration, there are some fans who might enjoy seeing a player, particularly a captain, loudly booed and pilloried for the inadequacies of the whole team, thankfully I'm not one of those, but frankly I'm surprised it's taken them until now to voice their disatisfaction. Surely, his position as captain is becoming untenable, ..... hopefully, Lambert will agree.

Perhaps there will still be a spot on the bench for Danny..... what else will he do during the remainder of his 4 year contract ?
