I am truly lost for words
I would love to be proven wrong but this just looks like the cheap option again.

Please don't take this the wrong way Robin, as I know that exclamation comes from your gut.
But, having read many LT 'outcries', but for gods sake just what are folk expecting.
I was told that with OC we were definitely doomed. Well if that was the case, why this reaction?
My hope is that TM will be able to attend to our defensive frailty. That is the immediate need. With improvement in that area it does/will give us a glimmer of hope.
His 'fresh' and more structured training / coaching will maybe energise and motivate our squad ( as its alleged OC's were poor / dire).
This man has my support as least, as otherwise you may as well just throw your hand in.
I am sure he is not too naive in respect of our precarious position and our difficult owners. All he can do is give it his best shot.

Another poor appointment. A cheap option. Like Coyle. A manager with an awful recent record in management, like Coyle. Another uninspiring appointment, like Coyle. Another tactically inept coach, like Coyle.
Oh how I wish we could return to a time everyone moaned about us 'only' treading water under Bowyer mid table in the Championship. Everything since his sacking has been disasterous.

Well, what can we do except give him a chance, support him, and get behind the team?
Mowbray is a classic illustration of my theory that the concept of a "good manager" doesn't hold much water. Sure, there are the rare beasts who seem to be specially gifted, and are consistently successful, but how many of them can you name?
Far more are like the curate's egg or the little girl with the curl in the middle of her forehead.
Mowbray has been award-winning at times/in places; dire in other situations.
I don't think he is a Lambert in terms of style. As far as I can see, he has tried to produce "passing" teams. I hope he knows our first priority is to the stop defensive leaks!
To go back to an earlier thread, Senior clearly DID have someone waiting in the wings. I wonder if Coyle knew it was coming.

Champs - so true, what you say about Bowyer!

He comes across as a right morngy sod at times, but that should be irrelevant when its the style of footy and the results that count the most.
I was surprised at how badly he messed things up at Cov last season.

While I'm willing to concede he is another budget option, I beg to differ that he's not an improvement on coyle. He's streets ahead, and his 'failures' don't involve his sides being relegated. In the circumstances I'm pleased. We have a manager I can get behind again.

To be fair champs you critisised Lambert's appointment off his immediate record before rovers, instead wanting jimmy Floyd hasselbaink. He did poorly at QPR soon afterwards.

Its not an exactly science, like aucks says, there's a fair degree of luck involved in picking out a manager.

All we can do is get behind mowbray, and literally hope for the best.

Have any of you noticed he's one of those blokes who has never looked young? I bet he could get into pubs when he was nine.

I will stand here and admit I was a little harsh in my assumption of Mowbray
I have seen a few of the comments from the fans of his old clubs and the vast majority were very positive
I will be at his first game and continue to support until the end of the season
if he keeps us up that's a huge success if not let's look at things then
The effect he has needs to be pretty quick though as time is running out
