There's no way he's going to walk away. He's too arrogant and pig headed to do that. Unfortunately there's no way he's going to be sacked either, as he has too many 'friends' in the boardroom so we are stuck with him for the foreseeable.
The board of course really should be taking action but I can't see it.
No way will he walk. we'll do something about it when we end up in the championship.
...and that's exactly where we're heading
I have never seen a group of players that look beat before a ball is kicked,it is quite obvious that there is problems within the dressing room.McGhee has the audacity to say in his interview tonight that if none of the injured players are back for the Kilmarnock game he would go with the same back four, MFI wardrobe is more secure than that foursome.MCGhee is tactically naive and his own pig headedness will put this club in the championship. We have to get rid of him no matter what it takes.Kilmarnock will have a field day pumping high balls all day long against today's back four.Seven**** goals conceded in last four games is beyond a joke it just highlights the fact that McGhee doesn't have a clue how to address the problem.
Until today I firmly believed that we should give McGhee until the end of the season and then let him move on. However after that absolute shocking display today I have changed my opinion. It is now time he went. If he stays its obvious he doesn't have the ability to turn things around. There's nothing to lose by terminating his contract now. We couldn't do any worse.
It was disheartening to watch the players, or at least most of them, down tools in the first half. Their body language spoke volumes. That showed that McGhee has lost the dressing room. If the Board is hesitating then they just need to gauge the level of discontent in the stands. I have rarely sensed such widespread annoyance.
Agree with all of this other than 'we couldn't do any worse'...St Mirren are likely heading for the second division because they decided they couldn't do any worse than Danny Lennon a couple of years ago.
That said, very little is accomplished without risk. I'd rather not have the upheaval of removing McGhee before the season ended but it's hard to see what will change now.
If I could get a bet on it, I'd wager the board will give him the Killie game and punt him after another loss.
