    Former Wolves Midfielder Paul Cook

    He doesn't stay at clubs very long does he during his managerial career so far. He's been appointed the new manager at Wigan. Kenny Jackett is rumoured to be the front runner for the Pompey job.

    Apparently Cookie had a "drink problem" at the time, as did Robbie Keane, Mike Stowell and Don Goodman apparently.

    I think a lot of fans are surprised at this news '71, but maybe Cook thought hed taken Pompey as far as he could, or maybe it was a case of hed done what he set out to and take them up from Lg Two, and as champions.
    Or maybe its because hes a former Wigan player and as a scouser thats his part of the country. And I couldnt understand why he left a play off team like Chesterfield for Pompey in the first place 2 years ago.

    One of the reasons i've read is that it's closer to home for him. maybe Wigan will also offer decent transfer budget.

    Kenny Jackett has been appointed as the new manager at Portsmouth. A good appointment if you ask me. He knows league one well.
