    O/T Barcelona Attack

Dreadful news as always. I believe this is the place the Blaugrana go to celebrate their many cup victories.

Barcelona are now leagues behind their arch rivals Real Madrid after losing their most creative player Xavi they were never the same again. They need to heavily invest in their squad if they are to even compete with a dominating Real Madrid team but spending all their Neymar money on Ousmane Dembele & Philippe Coutinho, make me question they are not spending their money wisely when they should spend it on a more wider picture on bringing in more then just two players who cost around £190m.

Talk about losing the plot. If it was something else, we would be laughing at his expense. However since it's something entirely repugnant, we'll ignore his post as being irrelevant.
I may be wrong about the location being Barca's celebratory point, but as you would already know, that was not the object of my post.

Oh good God - the lack of awareness.

This might be your most embarassing moment yet

Heard about the terrorist attack in Barcelona same story as the London attack with a Van driving into people same old, same old.

Anyway as for Barcelona they do need their attack upgrading after Neymar left so this links in as well.

So he had heard about it, yet still chose to make puerile football comments in a disrespectful way as if trying to make a joke of it. "same story as..." "same old same old" = dismissive disrespectful of 14 dead and countless injured.

Again attempting to trivialise it a bit like a schoolboy giggling at his own joke in poor taste
So if that is deemed to be acceptable behaviour on a public discussion board, what sort of an example does this set for all the "new blood" that you are trying to attract. Come here lads, its OK to take the piss out of human tragedy - but just dont have a go at yorkshire men or you will be banned? Double standards, and clearly you are trying to protect your protege from your position of privilege as a moderator.

Anyway this is a football forum so why are you even talking about terrorism anyway and if you want to talk about terrorism go on a general discussion chat forum to discuss all your needs. Barcelona terrorism attack would of been more of the appropriate headline then just Barcelona attack because Barcelona attack on a football forum would be about Barcelona not terrorism.

Depends if you have an agenda or not ..... to me that's him trying to explain how the misunderstanding happened. I made the same mistake last night thinking that was the subject. There is nothing in the first post that makes a joke and soon as he says hes heard he doesnt make a joke. he is being attacked from several posters and tries to explain how it would link in to a current discussion piece.

there is no direct correlation made between the two. There's a difference between what you want it to say and what it actually says.....

But if someone wants to ridicule special needs people and a group of people directly there is no ambiguity. Big difference!

As I replied, because it's a tragedy his remarks which would normally be utterly amusing should be discarded as irrelevant . The only point worth gleaning from it was that either his command of the language is so poor that his only recourse is to copy wholesale reports from the press, which in describing Barcelona FC's attack would prove the reason of cut and paste. Or he's plainly dumb.

Now I shall admit why I wasn't so clear in post 1, is because I wasn't sure of this place Las Ramblas. To me it sounded like a place they would normally go after a victory hence the reference to the football club. But as OT in the topic clearly implies it was primarily to notify of the tragic events. How one goes on to think it would refer to the strikeforce of Barca, well I gave my explanation above.

On a side note, the 1 not so bad thing of our friend's lack of knowledge and input, it changed the course of the discussion, which normally would see the calling for the internment and all sorts of rather ridiculous bile against the average Muslim community which do not support these vicious attacks. I think a quick perusal of other forums would show this is exactly the scenario. I don't think we need that here.
