    Rooney announces international retirement

Good for him and he's only 31.

He's set the record for the most capped outfield player of all time.

Scored the most goals for his country.

Youngest ever scorer for England, he's done it all.

Be a long time before his records are broken, if at all.

Who knows a good season with Everton, more game time than he got at Man Utd and more goals may make him re think this over.

    Well done Wazza.

Gets undeserved stick by some fans but he's done well for England.

    200 league goals but I don't think he'll beat Shearer's 260 is it?

I thought Southgate retired him months ago.

A credit to football to be honest, had a few issues early in his career while growing up, but has shown exempliary behaviour both on and off the pitch, despite the gruesome stick he's received, good on you Wayne.

I still think he could do a job, centre midfield or deeper, an area England seem to be short in.
