If this takeover goes thru ? And the new owner wants to build a new ground on the Outskirts of Barnsley, !
Would you be for ?
or against leaving Oakwell ?
I think myself I would stop going if we moved away from Oakwell ,

It won't happen (he says in hope) I'm done if so. Doing up oakwell and the land it comes with far out weighs starting a fresh. If the investment is vast millions (which it isn't) then they would start again somewhere else like Man stupidity. I think first thing we will see is digital sponsor boards with Chinese/American companies then box facilities done up. Then new major sponsor cos it's up for renewal then west stand development. Model stays same but monies brought in secures championship status and beyond to the promised land. No one loses, once there investors profit.
That's my take, hope I'm correct but you never know.
Why move? Build a new West Stand mirroring the East Stand and jobs a good'un.
Not enough land to do that Ponte.
They'll not move grounds . There'd be uproar , I'd imagine Cryne would have it written in the deal .
I wouldn't like it myself because it's part of our history and heritage , I'm even against the ground changing it's name for commercial benefit .
What I've just posted above I've read elsewhere by fans of other clubs who have moved to new stadiums , not going no more blah blah .
It seems to pass once reality hits home after the last game is played .
Do Brighton fans miss the Old Goldstone Ground ? or Huddersfield miss Leeds Road ? , give it a few years and nobody will even give their old grounds a thought .
Sad but true .
Who misses the old ponty end or brewery stand ? Same difference and we all kept on going just the same .
We are all just passing through the club anyway , kids born everyday who will take our places once we are gone , what does Oakwell mean to them ? Absolutely nothing .
Anything that helps the club become competitive at this level or above going forward then you have to consider it or risk getting left behind , history and heritage doesn't allow you to keep your best players in today's football market .
The capitalists have won , they own the game and there's nothing you can do to change that except hitch your wagon to the train or die a slow death .
Animal is at a stage of his life when he realises there are battles you just can't win and it's pointless and frustrating even trying .
What will be will be , fuq it .
Poggy. If you look at the West Stand the lower tier is built into ground level and wouldn't require any work at all. The upper tier is essentially a box structure that could be demolished and rebuilt the full length of the field. The roof could also be extended over the existing lower tier. The turnstiles could be incorporated into the back of the stand gaining room.
I hope they box in the northeast corner first. The winter wind howls along ESL and it's not good for my ageing bones 😥
