130th celebrations

We are celebrating our 130th anniversary this weekend as we welcome Aston Villa to Oakwell for a 5:30pm kick off, live on Sky Sports!

To celebrate this momentous occasion, we have a number of special events, which are listed below....

Former players* have been invited to Oakwell as guests of the Club, and they will be introduced to the crowd prior to kick off

We have a special 130 page edition of our matchday BE RED programme; the cover was specially painted by Reds fan and artist, Ben Mosley and includes interviews galore with players and staff, past and present as well as our usual content.

Inside 130 lucky copies of the programme will be a Golden Ticket which entitles the recipient to a free '130th Anniversary' limited edition scarf.

Reds fans will once again be able to use the Layar App with this edition of BE RED, to get exclusive, augmented reality features.

Using Snapchat, Reds fans will have access to a special Barnsley FC filter throughout matchday at Oakwell, and around town all weekend.

Bottles of Coors Light, hot drinks and soft drinks will be priced at £1.30 between 4pm and 5pm.

Ash Randall, football freestyler will be in attendance in the Investment Room East Stand lower concourse.

And we have a special surprise for supporters in the CK Beckett South Stand ahead of kick off...
*Bobby Hassell, Darren Barnard, Eric Winstanley, Martin Devaney, Bruce Dyer, Stephen Foster, Ashley Ward, Craig Hignett, George Kerr, Paul Cross, Darren Moore, Colin Walker, Adi Moses, Paul Hayes and Alan Hill are just some of the former players we've invited to the game...

We would advise supporters to be at their seats before 5pm, and let's celebrate our proud history together in style!
