    Shots on target

For all Liverpools possession and all their shots they only had two on target.
Newcastle playing a defensive counter attacking game had Eight on target.
I still think Liverpool will give someone a hammering sooner rather than later.

sky have the count as 5-2 in our favour.

I'm not really interested in possession or shots stats these days.

our work rate, commitment and togetherness was what caught the eye yesterday...

Agree totally! a bit like Leicester when they won the league(but without their stand out players),
I was bricking it at the beginning of the season, looking at our squad..
Now Im quietly optimistic that we will stay up..

all the negative Shiite about Rafa...

I have read the question / statement several times on here.

"which of our players have improved under him"
"his negative brand of football doesn't improve players"

    what a load of bollix...

his system was being introduced and perfected last season, now we are reaping the benefits.

he is doing wonders with a limited squad.

we have the youngest team in the whole premier league, mistakes will be made, but when you see work rate last yesterday, in an atmosphere like we had yesterday, then we have to ALL buy in to Rafa's ways..

just buckle up and enjoy the ride

I dont think he can improve under Rafa,or anyone else for that matter..
I reckon Rafa must think we have nobody better to fill the number 10 slot, and who am I to argue..

we've discussed this on the mom thread.

Rafa will meticulously give every player a job, Perez (like Dummett who is equally unpopular amongst fans) will follow his I structions to the letter.

we don't seem to have a viable alternative.

    Diame? Gayle? Mitro?

    moving Ritchie, Shelvey or Merino?

long term, Murphy could be the answer, but he has started slowly / poorly.

it seems we are stuck with Perez, who at least offers a high level of work rate

No one has improved under rafa
he plays a system that is boring and effective to get results with the players he has

if he was in charge of liverpool he would have them far higher in the league than they are as he would sort the back 4 out but have the flair players to go forward

rafa brought work horses in in the last window

    rafas philosphy is dont loose
if that means sitting there watching negative footy then so be it

as much as i liked the draw against the scousers and the weekend
i wouldnt have paid to watch it if i was just in the toon to watch a game

rafa is as negative as fat sam

and if that keeps us up so be it

me id prefer the fizzy playing attacking entertaining footy
