    O/T Advocaat (not d1ck)

Does anyone still buy this slimy mucous spirit or has it gone the way of Double Diamond. Apparently its made of egg yolks. Must be the worse alcoholic beverage ever created. My nan always had a bottle at Christmas, yuk

I don't drink, never enjoyed the taste of beer or alcahol in general but I often used to have a crafty "Snowball" at Xmas.

Cherries taste great when dipped in Advocat.

Not a drink to partake of on a night out with the lads in the 70's and 80's though!!

Seeing this title reminded me of one of the best replies I ever saw on this forum a few years ago when we were in the middle of a new manager hunt.

    "Dick Advocat" somebody posted.

"My gran's two favourite things in life" was the first reply.

Still makes me loff many years later.

Got home late on Christmas eve many moons ago, pubs had closed at 10.30 and I just hadn't had enough, you now what I mean. Only drink I could find in the house was the obligatory bottle of Advocaat. Slugged it straight from the bottle, maybe half of it, maybe. Less tha a minute later it comes roaring back, accompanied by the previously consumed pickeld onions, crisps, whelks and pickled eggs. Locked in my memory forever.

Happy new year and plenty [well enough] points for the grate escape. Good luck you Baggies.
