Well that was awful. Absolutely awful. Let’s get the fact that wolves are decent out the way and let’s evaluate our current 1st choice 11.

Moore - shocking. Hand should have been stronger for their second. We need a better no.1
Baldock- ran the channels as always. I like him.
Onconnell - bit of a none game for him as they played a lot of the ball on the deck. He’s a big header.
Stearman- not good enough. Needs replacing.
Basham- not good enough. Needs replacing.
Stevens- not good enough. Needs replacing.
Evans- none game. No runners to feed in.
Fleck - worst game I’ve seen him have. Loose passes all night.
Holmes- ran his nuts off but I fear he’s not good enough for this level.
Clarke- shocking again. Won’t get better.
Wilson- tidy at times. His first touch is woeful.

The bottom line is this. If we are to challenge then we need better. That’s the way the game is going and the clubs who spend will be the clubs who do it. I fear the days of the outsider getting promoted have gone.

Emotional and frustrated. Will be interesting to see what wilder says tonight and does for Leeds next week.

The season is still alive but I can’t see it now. Looks like the lads have lost a lot of confidence.

I think you should revisit this when you’re not emotional and frustrated Bolton. Ask yourself what did you really expect of this season with the financial backing Wilder has? We’re in the bottom 6 club’s financially.

Weve just played a team that’s lightyears ahead of us financially and development-wise at this level, and we’ve played above ourselves all season and unless we get better backing comparative to the top teams this is as good as it’ll get so why fall on your sword and get too down? We all know where we’re at right now you’re spot on saying how hard it’ll be for clubs without cash to get promoted...although of course Huddersfield managed it.

Totally agree about Moore though and I think it’s time to drop Clarke and lose his captaincy, I think has been off his game for weeks as has Stevens. As for Stearman, a bit harsh I think, I reckon he’s been our best player for weeks now. Of course if somebody suddenly dropped £90+ in Chris’s hands like Nuno Santo has had to spend, none of them would be good enough for us except maybe Brooks.

Money gets to a long way. Man City and Wolves prove that but before we write it all off as money let’s consider Huddersfield and Leicester.
I only saw the last twenty minutes tonight and we’d already lost so can’t really judge but I agree the early season confidence is deffo shot.
We need that belief again and we can’t still make the play offs which will be an amazing achievement given our budget.

might be the time to do that gray i would certainly drop leon hes been poor the last 6 weeks just doesnt seem the same player somehow duffy has to come back in and i think leonard might replace bash as well next sat we MUST win these next 2 home games if were to keep in the running for the last play off spot

I’m not stupid enough to think we should be matching wolves. I’m naive even to believe we could keep up our earlier form though.

NO! I said I’d get rid of Moore, basham, stearman & Stevens. The rest had a bad night but have the ability. Some of them are just off form and some have only just arrived so might need time. Some are just not good enough.

I’m not saying anything out the ordinary here after our recent form. 2 wins in 12 is not good. Next week is a huge game for us.
