    Taking a corner

Why were fans in the corner of West/North stand having a fit when Fleetwood were taking a corner, moaning the ball was not placed properly? They do know that only some part of the ball has to be within the corner arc. So the part of the ball touching the grass could be outside the arc (white paint), but as a ball is round some of the ball can be within the arc. The same as when a goal is only awarded when all of the ball is over the line.

What was good, when Newell placed the ball in the same spot no one was complaining.

Yes some don't know that rule or may have felt that it wasn't in contact with the arc but the Ref thought it was.

Although he made some strange decisions the ref did have a sense of humour so he'll do for me.

Some of our fans think a quadrant is a group of RAF pilots

Yes it was good that on the second one he went and checked it, left it where it was and smiled.

    Ref's big mistakes today

Fleetwood player has a smash at the ball due to being closed down, ball goes completely wide of the net without making contact with any of our players.

Ref blows for a corner, outrage commences from both out players and fans. Ref stands his ground and the corner is taken. Absolutely nothing wrong in the penalty area as the ball is floated in but amazingly the Ref blows up for a fictitious free kick awarded to us. Cue laughter all round.

Late on in the game what is clearly a corner to us the Ref blows for a goal kick. Abuse galore descends down on the ref for him to only look into the crowd smile and then reverse his decision and give us the deserved corner. You couldn't make it up.

    What a clown.

The corner they scored from looked a bit iffy from my seat at the other end of the ground.

What's was the north stand opinion?

It was the defending that was iffy. We must be a set piece coach's wet dream

The second goal was so obvious it was going to back post as they had a player free and not sure who ajayi was marking. Vaulks was furthest back so should be telling the rest who they should be marking.

Not often Vaulks is out jumped for a header but for the second goal he was.
