Big changes will be required including and a significant clear out. All the same, the retention of a quality player like him will be a bonus.

A breath of fresh air to have a player WANTING to play for the club and and to prove his loyalty to the supporters. Unfortunately you don’t get that with the foreign brigade these days.

England's England's number 1 (and he even chose loyalty to Albion ahead of England).

    Top bloke!

Apart from his poor distribution a couple of years ago - which he has now corrected - you can hardly fault him. Albion's best ever goalie imo - streets ahead of overrated Osborne or The Pole.

Love Ben....but Osborne overrated?....Not from what I saw as a kid. Great keeper.

Osbourne was great, even had time for a smoke, his sandwich and a sup of mild and keepers used to get battered in them days.
Also played wing half for England schoolboys.

I remember one game when we were frantically attacking the Smethwick to get a win or a draw (can't remember). The opposition defender hoofed it into touch halfway towards the BRE....Ossie dashed to the touchline and took the throw-in!! Classic.

Ossie was a great shotstopper, but he was too prone to making daft errors - nowhere near as good as Ben.

I've seen all the 'keepers since the days of Jim Sanders and in my opinion Ben Foster is the best of the lot. We've had decent 'keepers in the past but never a Banks or a Shilton. Many would disagree with this, but I would put Tony Godden next in line to Foster with Osborne probably third. As with all other matters though, a matter of opinion.

Normally i don’t like goalkeepers to be captains but if there ever was a bloke who deserved it then it’s our Ben
