Well spotted! Shame they couldn't make it midnight instead of 10pm Friday.

How would that help us on Saturday? I apologise if I'm missing something.

That's a sound idea. It may seem a long way round but it's worth it - believe me, I deliver to the airport twice a night (have done since the roadworks started) and it's well worth keeping as far away from J24 as possible.

If I can suggest another, A52 to Derby and come off on the A6 Raynesway (where Rolls Royce Nuclear is) to the A50.
You'll head towards Castle Donington, MUST come off at J1.
Through the village and you'll come out on the 453 ( where the entrance to Donington museum is)
If you turn left you'll come to 23a (Donington Services) I'd keep away from that!
Turn right and follow the old 453 to the A42. Come off at the first exit and it will take you on the Loughborough road to J23 of the M1.
If you know that area there's a shorter way via Diseworth without using the 42.
Again, a long way round but I'd rather do that than chance it at J24.
