What The F@ck Is Wrong With Society These Days Thread

I remember laughing and thinking Dundonians were minkers after reading ASDA had to tag all their shopping baskets as so many were nicked.

That was topped today in Tesco Inverurie

As I was leaving I set of the alarm with my shopping. So the security guard took my receipt and searched my trolley. He said "no clothes, booze or computer games" then kept rummaging. Then he found the offending article "aaaah ham" he said. I asked if he was kidding. Turns out he wasn't. Tesco have had to secretly tag ham from the deli counter as its getting nicked so often.

What the f@ck? What kind of minkers live in this world. And in my neck of the woods more importantly that ham has to be tagged

I don't think it's just your neck of the woods. I used to work in farmfoods in alexandria when I was school and the target for the vast majority of shoplifters was bacon. Had to give chase but once they reached the safety of their dodgy slum estates, the game was a bogey and they could keep their smoked middle.

Thieving is an illness. Those who participate simply can not be cured.

    Was it expensive ham?

You would think that if somebody was going to steal something, they would pick something valuable and not ham.

Is it too late to say that I blame Thatcher and the third generation where her twin values of entitlement and exploitation hold sway and have now become the societal norm?

    No?

    Good. That then.

Bacon is easy to sell in the pubs. Likewise steak and razors.

Ah but it wiznae though because it was from Tesco

or Asda or a more expensive piece of s'hite from Sainsbury's or Markies.

Buying food from a supermarket at all is dodgy enough, but meat?

    Beef from Morrisons is ok

I heard that bacon was number 1 choice for shoplifters years ago.

Anyone buying stuff like that in a pub from some dodger should be shot.
