    Mawouna Avemor

    Hi there,

I run an independent English language website for Thai Premier League club, Chonburi FC. We have just signed, Mawouna Avemor, one of your former players.

Is there anyone here who remembers him and who would be prepared to answer a few questions via e mail?

If you are keen, please DM me, or leave a message here, and I will send you some questions.

Many thanks and good luck for the rest of the season.

Indeed he was, goal and a red card on his debut and then kept Adama Traore quiet when we played Aston Villa, other than that he struggled to get a run in the team and just when it looked like he was going to come back he was injured in the warm up of a game. Thought he had potential personally but probably wasn't helped by playing left back, centre back and right back during his time here instead of getting a run in one spot.

Thanks for that. Much appreciated. Am I OK to quote your post on my site?

He had all the physical attributes to be a decent defender, but he seemed quiet and a bit lost at times on the pitch, like he didn't really want to be playing. The type of centre back that doesn't communicate well with those around him - but that might have had more to do with the fact he was young and playing in a foreign league.

He was one of a handful of players from the Dutch lower leagues brought in by Moniz. It's hard to know how good half that squad were, as many only played a handful of games before disappearing. The whole Moniz tenure was yet another bizarre episode in Notts County's history, where the chairman went all in and backed a foreign boss with a new style of football, only to sack him before he could really get anywhere. Who knows what would have happened if we'd stuck with him for the full season - certainly nothing worse that Fullarton. Classic Notts.

Yeah, if you want. Not sure if the second paragraph is that relevant though.

Must admit that I had almost forgotten Mawouna Amevor, but this thread does stir a few memories. Amevor seemed to have potential, but he didn't play too many games for the first team, and when he did he played in a few positions across the back four. I saw him in a few second team games as a central defender and he looked good. It's difficult to relate Thai Premier League to league 2, but I would guess he may be a good signing for you. It would be good if you could update us on his progress.

ps You are more than welcome to quote my words, but credit me as 'the annoying b@stard' on Views from the Kop!

Thanks. The season doesn't start until the end of February, but I'll be happy to send updates on his progress.
