Dfcss non members views for future, what would it take for you to pay your £5

Right tin hat on and lets try and keep on topic and put aside views post admin upto now.

The direction seems to be changing to lets see what we can do, to help the club and thats prob the upmost wish of any fan.

Is it time to try and adopt the tried and tested "community centre"model approach that most of us 40/60 year olds enjoyed when growing up?

The present club board appear to be out of touch with the fans, would they still be out of touch once revenue started to stream in from a revamped SS ?

There could be many different work groups within the SS from a stadium maintenence group to social meetings once a fortnight wether that be for a historical chat with ex players or table tennis/pool/cooking etc,you could also have internal golf/fishing / hill walking group outings just as the old c/centres did, there is even an area big enough under the coxy stand to have some type of physical activity.

All those potential groups under the 1 banner would/could raise money throughout the year just in the way the c/centres did when employing the pay to use it theme, that worked so well for decades until the xbox came along.

The hoped outcome would see funds being built up to help the club, the club benefitting from on tap help in many areas,

and most importantly a huge message gets sent out to the club that the fans are here to help and are a group of people who when asked to in the past have stepped upto the mantle when required.

Its a left hand right hand situation and really is as simple as that,

iv been pissed off with the state of the ground
    stiffleing of the derry atmosphere
stupid q twice for a tkt
lack of interaction from J Nelms

A strong large group of fans could and would improve so many things whilst allowing the club to enjoy the benefits that would and should flow from that group whilst also going along way to stopping the APATHY that emancipates from the bricks and mortar of the old lady just now

Its a task to attend these days and shouldnt be, something that started with me about 2 years into the Yanks x year plan, and im sure im not alone on that front
    any other ideas?

Great post shaded, something needs to change, first thing I’d change is the way of paying your £5 to join, it took me 3 attempts last time I joined, I never received one email or letter after that, I don’t think many would fancy going to Dave Forbes shop to hand over £5, why not set up tables inside stands where you can fill in a simple form and pay your fee

I enclose details how to join from the DFCSS website. http://www.dee4life.com/membership_form.php
People can join using the Gocardless scheme which means paying the annual subscription of £5 every year by standing order. I pay my membership fee using the Gocardless scheme.

Good post G, you hit the nail on the head on a good few points in your post. The clampdown on the lads creating an atmosphere in the Derry and also the state of the Dens Road area of the ground has pissed me off and i would guess a significant number of others as well.

What rankles with me the most though is the clubs apparent reluctance to sit down with engage with the fans and listen to ideas and suggestions that could benefit both club and supporters, i just dont get this at all,the club and fans should be working together to drive the club on and progress ,you are right APATHETIC is the word i would use to describe the mood of a lot of Dees at the minute, good good die hard Dees at that...and once we lose them then its only going to end in tears.

My answer to your original question of what it would take for me to rejoin DFCSS /or DEE4 life, it would be YES, but only IF
the club and fans group were to have a positive relationship going forward and the fans group to be headed and steered by fans who are not chasing blazers ,but genuinely in it for the good of the club and the fans.

We all want what is good for Dundee Fc that there is no doubt ,surely to feck both fans and club can come together and move forward and progress.

Will it happen? Time will tell, i personally have my doubts, lets just wait and see.

I would happily join if boys like shaded,Scott g and maybe some of the boys who run buses were involved and remnants from the past were ousted.

I've never been a member but if I was to get a discount I cud be persuaded.😎

I'm about as ****ed off with things as it's possible to be BUT if I saw a group that wasn't virtue signalling, wasn't bickering with the owners and as Eric says had guys at the fore front I respected then yes.

But it's very difficult to expect the same people to lead time and time again.

Would prefer a club membership scheme for my fiver, at least that way you know where the money is going, maybe even fund an evening or two for our beloved pensioners, and an open day end of the season for younger fans. Think the club would maybe send out the odd email or two to a group like that.

at the moment the way i see it (rightly or wrongly) is

we are all fans of the same club
think we would all help in whatever way we could

but its John Nelms ball just now and he doesnt appear to be willing to pick teams and put the fat lad in the goal
I think what the club has to avoid is alienating the fans and the club has already started the journey.wether they realise that or not.

they should be listening too and engaging with the fans but i see little evidence of that,a revamped/rejuvenated SS could be the way forward,iv met Ian Baird a few times and he is as passionate about the dees as any other fan i know,Norrie Price needs no introduction to any dee thats watched the dark blues,Bob Hynd is another guy who's dee credenitials are unquestionable, thats a pretty solid foundation to start building on imo,no disrespect intended to the other guys and girls involved i just havna got thr time right now to google what they do and their respective posistions within the SS

The secret is how to get more people involved, hence the opening post

I suggest that you read the How to join on the society website and read the section the Benefits of of Membership.
