    O/T building fire in Rotherham

Old masons arms on Wellgate on fire
Avoid the area for now, hope it’s all sorted later, I go that way to match

It’s probably the faulty electrics from growing cannabis or whatever it were when they got raided last week or so

Shocker. It catches fire a few weeks after it stops being any use.

Well, it's hardly the first building in Rotherham to suffer that fate.

Particularly in the pub and restaurant sector (must be sheer coincidence!)... although there have been several other well known cases too

The Masons is a beautiful building. Really wish developers could take these properties on. But, wrong location makes it worthless.

couldn’t agree more, but as an example of the problem

    https://www.smcommercial.co.uk/find-...-street-maltby

    Rent £9500, rates approx £3500

And that’s for a pokey little run down shop in a run down bit of Maltby.

Bigger pub type premises in Rotherham centre are basically unsellable

That's going to be £600 of profit on whaever is sold to pay for the building and one member of staff.
