Been watching it on the live video feed from the ground. Good day for Yorkshire. Rarely looked troubled after the first few overs. Root and Ballance are in fine form at the moment. Last season Root only made a total of 97 County Championship runs in six innings for us!(To be fair, I think that he was recovering from illness/injury at the time ). Only worry - will we be able to bowl Hampshire out twice on that fairly easy-playing pitch?

No mike it won't be easy to bowl them out.
At least the batting has started well.
Adam Lyth made 67, passing 10,000 career runs.

Yes, quite an achievement. If we could find a decent opening partner to pay alongside him, he'd probably do even better . We've been looking for a couple of seasons, but let's hope that one of the young 'uns can fill that role.

Well first England game is 3rd May so I assume a few days before that.

Personally I can't get excited about Yorkshire, it's not Yorkshire it's a collection of mercenaries many of which have no connection to a Yorkshire pudding let alone Yorkshire. Add to this the Leeds centric policy of YCCC and I feel no real connection.

And that's coming from a bloke that had YCCC membership for nearly 20 years.

Fair point Grist but quite a few Yorkshire born players hardly ever play for the County as they play for England.
This can be up to 3/4 players per season

It does seem that when Yorkshire produce a good player they seem to get an international call up.

Was there a saying that when Yorkshire has a good team then so do England?
