    As Berahino Been Reincarnated

As fat Saido been reincarnated in the shape of Harper?

Loads of talent - without question!
    Lazy
    Disinterested
    Is he committed?

Is he or the Agent chasing a fat contract?

He’s got talent and could be a fantastic player. My point is he looks like another with a chip on his shoulder - lazy and motivated by money.

I certainly would not start him against Vile.

Then you have Brunt who is not good enough now but to his credit - always gives 100%.

bit early on to judge him really. he's played in a disjointed season where even the coaches didn't know the best lineup. been in and out of the side, played out wide and in centre in an ever changing system . he's a young man who needs grounding and reminding where he's come from and who got him where he is now. the next appointment of head coach is crucial because the character of the coach could impact on Harper,Field,Edwards,Leko etc, moreso than the established pro's. they're still developing and being moulded into players, and what they learn in the next 12 months will be so important to their futures.
having said that,Harper definitely has work to do in the attitude and endeavour department. today he looked off the pace, half hearted and lacklustre,in complete contrast to Field when he came on .

Brunt is a must against Villa.

Experience is going to be crucial especially at Villa Park.

I fear 3-5-2 is going to kill us in these matches, surely 4-5-1 away and keep it tight.

I think the system 4-5-1 is fine but I never think it suits Gayle or JRod and certainly don’t think either should play in the middle 5.

For me for all his faults HRK gets game time when we play anything near 4-5-1 because he holds the ball up better than the other two and also draws more free kicks from defenders. That is why I would still go 4-4-2 and play both Gayle and JRod up front.

We need a proper defensive midfielder. I would play Livermore (though I don't think much to him). Brunt shouldn't play. Phillips can deliver decent corners and free kicks and brings much more to the game than Brunt. Harper doesn't deserved to be considered. Pity Barry isn't available.
The line up will be the manager's favourite 3-5-2.

So you don't think all the goals and points that Chris Brunt has been responsible for count for Jack. I really can't believe you posted that.

My concern is not with the formations but with the personnel themselves.

Villa has some very good players who are winners. They have 4/5 that are on form and consistently performing well. They have proper big game players who will turn up and perform to their very best and then some. McGinn, Abrahams, Chester ( yes when it’s the big Wales games his on it ). And then they have a true captain who is an outstanding player who will die for the cause Mr Slippery himself. Even Hutton grows a massive pair and plays like a man possessed when its local sides like us and Blues.

    Who do we have?
Jrod is a big game player, Brunt and Hegazi will give their all, but Brunt will fade and Hegazi always has a mistake in him.

Gayle will give it a good go. Phillips fragile in body and in mind.

Many of the rest have no desire or are just wimps eg Harper and Murphy.

Others are just a liability, Johnstone, Bartley, Livermore likely to be sent off and HRK already has been!
