Discovery and Natural Geographic are my favourite channels now with some superb programmes.
SKY ATLANTIC is a superb channel as well.
Still occasionally good BBC programmes like Line of Duty.
I rarely watch football though and Match of the day almost never.
I’ve become a big fan of the NFL in America so I use SKY for that.
I hate watching programmes on a PC.
I’ve got Now TV. I have the movie package. It’s around a tenner a month. I occasionally buy a sports pass for 8 quid or whatever it is which lasts 24 hours. I watch it on my smart tv . Just go to PC World and spend £25 or whatever and plug it into your tv as long as you’ve got a USB connection. Better than watching a laptop!
I often use them, or try to.
I have a LG TV which connects via wireless and has a built in player for Now TV and that’s my most reliable method. Pc/Laptop more issues.
Yesterday a few pals came over to mine to watch the game and typically the service was down !
If you ever have to contact them for support heaven help you. We are all now familiar with the frustrations of dealing with overseas call centres. I used to get really uptight and frustrated with them but over the years I’ve been beaten to submission and my expectations are next to nil when I contact them. However these guys are a new low. You can only use chat and often they ask you to reboot and in the process will lose connection!, You will then have wait in a queue and begin the groundhog day routine again with another droid.
So in summary when it works it is good but on a Microsoft based system its fragile. I guess it’s all those updates to the O/S and the Now TV Player and other dependencies it needs
It depends what you want to watch it on Soulman.
If you want to watch it on your TV then unless you have a smart TV with the now tv app on it you will need a now tv stick which usually comes with a free sports day pass and a month of entertainment or movies.
The now tv stick costs about £15 from amazon or argos.
You can also watch it on your computer/phone by creating a now tv account and paying for the pass you want and that's it.
I have used it plenty of times. It's a very good way to watch what you want when you want to without the big financial commitment of sky/BT contracts.
Imo if you haven't got a smart TV (like myself) I would get a smart stick and the best one I would recommend is a roku TV stick, which I use, as it has all the major apps like now tv, amazon prime and Netflix as well as the usual BBC etc, etc.
It costs about £30.
BTW it's not a USB connection you must have on your TV, it is a hdmi connection.
Think i'm sorted, my sister in law is giving me a box and getting me a day pass. I'm like Mick don't or rarely watch any football on tv.
Lucky to get through 3 minutes watching Sky Sports news. If they had a radio show they would only play 4 records.
