I then checked the Daily Mail website which has the main headline: "Johnson will be questioned at leadership hustings today after police were called to flat he shares with girlfriend Carrie over 'plate-smashing, screaming row' as she yelled 'get off me, get out'"


Why do you say the BBC have gone too far, but the Daily Mail doesn't even get a mention with a much more sensationalist headline?

The fact a verifiable recording of the incident which is of Johnson's making and not possible to set up, plus they haven't denied the shouts do make this a noteworthy news story. Do you think the BBC and Guardian, whose job is to report the news, should ignore this news? WHY!? Bizarre.

The BBC had it on last nights news bulletin. They said their information was from the Guardian, but hadn't seen the "evidence" first hand. What great journalism that is.

I see also that the Jeremy Vine show continues to attract similar criticism. They ran a spot in midweek about why pregnant women should be spared jail. The report quoted a letter from a jailed woman published by the Guardian and the Guardian said it was from "an anonymous source" (ie made up).

Later in the week they had comment from an economics editor about the tory leadership results, nothing economic in the discussion just a character attack. Where was this guy an economics editor? You guessed it, the Guardian
