There seems to be a bit of healthy disagreement over players and whether it is their fault that they didn't make it as a Miller or it's the management of our club that is at fault.
After the Morgan plus others episode whilst Steve Evans was at the club it is clear to all of the players that Tony Stewart will back his manager over his players.
I believe that it was the same when Warne took over and the Blackstock saga which left the club short of a player and a lot of money that could have been spent on other players.
We don't know what goes off at training sessions. We don't know what data is collected by the GPS that players now wear or how it is read.
The thing we seem to know is which player we like on the pitch. But what if the player is playing to his full potential and no matter how much coaching they give a player that player will not improve.
What if a player isn't pulling his weight and has more to give but doesn't want to. How do you treat this type of player? Do you keep going with them hoping that one day it'll click and the player starts to preform? Do you cut your loses and get rid so that you can invest in a player who can do the same job and is more open to the techniques that the coaching staff are applying?
Surely if you have complient players to the ideas and way you want to play it is better than having someone who doesn't want to be 100% behind the manager.
Some managers like Warnock can get out of a player that others can't but is that just a special gift that he has? Warne certainly couldn't do what Warnock did because the players that Warnock has won promotion with trust that he can do it!
But surely then Warne got us promoted ony two seasons ago and most of us think that he can do it, the chairman thinks that he can do it and the players that played under him will believe it. Will the new faces be able to believe in him straight away? I can't see why not albeit less so that the already experienced players under his charge.
Can every player be brought round to the managers way of thinking? Trained to play the way the manager wants? Should the players not able to adapt be set aside?
