I am absolutely delighted for him, the club, the management team and everyone else involved in this.

We took a young man on loan, then signed him on a punt really because he was as raw as players come.
We turned him into a good championship player and gave him the place to develop into an international player.

He was always going to be a wanted player in this transfer window but we hoped that he'd stay.

We have developed a talent and sold him for a huge profit with add ons.

We now develop others and repeat so that we can continue to support what is becoming the club we could only dream of being!

That’s no where near enough money for a player of that ability.height, pace and availability, would rather have kept him and got promotion which was worth a lot more money than that !

He was our biggest danger from corners and set pieces, we have nobody else who is that dangerous from corners and his pace was an outstanding asset to the team.

As mentioned previously Barnsley sold two centre backs for much more money and Luton another defender for 4 million ! and these were only league 1 defenders Ajayi was Championship conditioned, will be ver, very disappointed if this proves to be correct

He is a player that didn't make it at arsenal or Cardiff but had a good season with us.
I don't know what the history is of the players you mentioned.

I do like him and I do wish that we'd tied him down to a longer contract but as a club we're growing and doing things better than we ever have.

His value is decreasing as every week passes and it edges towards the end of his contract.
£4M would have been good however there’s no one out there prepared to pay that figure.
Take the cash and go and buy Curtis Tilt on a three year contract.

Good Luck Semi Ajayi, thanks for the memories.

Totally agree. He is worth half is value at least in January so take the money and run. Hopefully we get a sell on and more than the 1.5 with add ons. This has to be the model going forward. You can't compare another player on a different contract going for more money from a different club. The market rate is what someone is prepared to pay, based on how good they are, how long they have left on their contract, their age and a whole load of other parameters. Just because Luton sell someone for 4 million doesn't mean Ajayi is work 4 million.

Good luck to the lad, however we are now 18 players left including our best 2 players, and only 6 players in. Warne said this week, losing Semi is like losing 2 or 3 players, so Tilt will not be enough to replace him. This is a very depleted squad at the moment a minimum of 5 players are required to give it depth and competition for places, as a fan we should expect at least another £2m to be spent on this squad. Lastly £1.3m for him is a disgrace, Douglas strikes again

How can a fee agreed between 2 clubs be anything to do with Douglas?
