    Daily Mail

Claims that Rafa has told friends that he only asked for £2 million pay rise taking his basic up to £8 million although bonuses could take it up to over £9 million. This is near Ashley's claim of 50 per cent pay rise.

    Don't shoot the messenger.

I dont believe a word of it but let's for arguments sake say it's true.If that speccy Penfold can get a rise of 100 percent on his wage I am sure has hell certain Rafa was worth a 20-25 percent rise.

Rafa didn't do enough to earn his 6 million never mind a wage rise.
The mercenary proved what he was.

Rafa basically kept us up 2 years making the club what £200m ,so if true then £2m is nowt.Of course IF Bruce keeps us up then it's a bargain.Champions of the bottom 4 is our aim so why pay Rafa £8 m when you can gamble on brucey
