I turned on the TV this morning and watched the parade in New York. I could be seen as an omen but it was in fact a scene from the film Miracle on 34th Street. It's funny how quickly this year has passed and how many games I must have missed during the run up to Xmas.
To be honest I thought that I was dreaming because it's been one hell of a night that topped off a day to forget. A bfriend of mine was air lifted to hospital but they wouldn't let me in with him![]()
Another trip to the hospital and then back in time for the match! Hopefully!
As Hazzahazagazza says in a post, he can't remember anything remarkable about the matches we've had with Tranmere. I always seem to remember the Ronnie Moore link with them and his staring role on Brookside when one of the actors was on trial.
They were always a 2nd division team along with the likes of Gillingham and Stockport if memory serves and used to play on Friday night trying to get their attendences up by tapping into the Liverpool and Everton fan base. As we now know Liverpool have an international fanbase much like Manchester Utd whilst Everton are more normal. Either way it didn't work and they plumitted out of the league only to return a couple of seasons ago.
I'm too tired to recall any other moments of their club and I think that I should leave it their. They did however sign Potter after his contract expired whilst he was injured with us for 12 years. I can't critisise to much because I thought that he was worth another contract.
His departure probably put the urgency into signing one of the best prospects that we have signed this summer. I can't wait for Lindsay to break into the team and now that we've signed a winger the possibility of seeing him gets closer.
I can't wait! I don't think that we've fully clicked as a team yet or that everyone fully knows what their role in the team is but it's slowly and surely coming together. Today could be a good day at the office!
I just hope that I'm back from the hospital in time to see it!
Enjoy the match boys and girls!
