    In response to Jim Soence

Dundee Utd will win the league this year, the second tier of Scottish football. This is the first time they’ll manage that feat in about 60 attempts and they will do it for one reason - the owner has paid hugely for it.
The Courier article talks of refurbishing Tannadice, fixing a dangerous situation where a roof can fall down isn’t refurbishment. It’s necessary repair.
I’m in full agreement Utd have the better team at the moment but let’s not forget 3 failed attempts to get out of this league, Could they have managed it without paying huge money to Lawrence Shankland? We’ll never know but gut feeling is his goals have made the difference.
Yes Dundee owner is making a mistake, blind faith in John Nelms, but he also pays for the mistake. In terms of playing staff there’s not a million miles between the teams, in terms of mgr ours is learning. Robbie Neilsen also needed that learning, after all Utd did not get promoted in his first season.
From blue tinted glasses we could say that Dundee are looking to get to the playoffs in a rookie mgrs first year, and are on target. We could say Dundee are looking to move into the first purpose built new stadium in the city for over 100 years.
We could say Dundee FC are not content to follow the Largs youth manual and have employed a specialist former Scotland and Celtic mgr to revamp the youths.
Challenging your assertion that 12,000 home fans shows potential at Tannadice there’s no doubt both city clubs have potential support ahead of half the premier league clubs. But they have to be winning.
Dundee has more fans at tannadice on Friday night than Utd had in the game they went down. It’s a fickle sport.
Dundee fans only look for a bit of fairness from your writing, but we know it’s unlikely given the fact you support Utd and were employed at Utd.
Yes the new owner has put in cash, lots of it. But why not tell everyone where Utd we’re going to be without it? You know it, I know it and you know my thoughts on Brannigan and Asghar disappearing and where that would leave the owner.
For the record, Utd haven’t yet won the league a reporter would be better starting the celebrating after it’s actually happened!

I forgot this - “ Instead, United are now certainties to win promotion and potentially ensure that the next cohort of young football fans in the city and environs grow up wearing tangerine.”

Garbage. Conveniently forgetting that despite about 40 years of misery half the city is still dark blue. Like a referendum you can say it’s 55/45 or 60/40 if you like but the fact remains our Club, our fans and our future are still dark blue despite the numerous times it could have ended. I think that’s really what bothers the name changing, team changing, colour changing tangerines.

I agree! I’m not convinced the stadium will ever happen.

What I’m pointing out is the ridiculous bias in whether it’s looked at through dark blue or tangy bias.

I’m a fan, JS is reporting. There’s a huge difference and we expect a little balanced fairness, that’s all.

Another myth. It’s also irrelevant if he reports in an unbiased professional manner
