What would you rather have ?

    I came across this yesterday.Would you rather ;

    1. Newcastle win FA Cup this season and Ashley stays.
    2. We dont win it and the takeover isnt a fakeover

I would go for number 2.Whilst it would be great to win something I look at the bigger picture. If it is massive investment coming our chances of winning things in future increase.

In reality though we all know half of 1 will happen and 2 well,we know what to do with that thought.

huge investment doesnt necessary win things

and even if we do get a huge investment in
dosnt mean we will win straaight away
may take several years if not 10,s of years
and as im older than some

    ill take a trophy now
rather than a dream that might be

    Number 2.

Much as I would love to see us win a Cup, the bigger picture is about hope and ambition. I do take Pboro's point about a new owner not guaranteeing anything but we haven't won anything in my NUFC-supporting life so a few more years wouldn't worry me.

Tbh, if it was suddenly announced that we had been sold then I'd feel like we'd won something anyway.

    zippythat wasnt the question
the question was would you ake a cup now under ash

any true supporter would take a trophy
surely thats what we are here for

how can you in one way slag ash for not having a go in the cups
yet when he does and if we win a trophy slag him off

we didnt win anything under shepheard
    and never kicked on either

yes we got to europe and some cup finals which was great but a few more years in the wilderness which is where we were heading would have had the fans turning on their own

expenditure never guarantees anything ,leeds and a lot of others will testify to that

but first you need a buyer with the wedge
and who will buy a club for close to near 400 miilion plus
spend that again when in 4-5 years the big teams go of and form a european super league

it will take us that long and 500-plus million just to try and catch up

thats why no one will buy us

I would LOVE a Cup, don't get me wrong but the question is purely hypothetical as we will never win a Cup under fatso as we will never have a squad capable of it.

And as for the 'any true supporter' bit...as Chris Sutton would say 'you're better than that'.

    ....aren't you?

Number one is short term glory number two could lead to us becoming a normal respected club again instead of the joke we have become.

Also number two could lead to the glory of number one again and again without the greedy leach gleaning off all of the profit and glory.

Number one voters are either small minded and can't think of future benefits os just simply wind up merchants
