That makes me feel a bit better.

I know you think we'll sail through, Geordie but I can't help feeling uneasy, like.

I understand worries. Look at it this way, the Premier League are not going to be blackmailed by a Qatar based TV company who just so happens to have a dispute with the Saudis.
The Premeir League is not going to get involved in a Human Rights issue, that's to do with the Govt. If this wasn't to go through and you all know how confident I am, the Saudis could cause a lot more trouble financially for the PL than some TV company threatening to withdraw its TV deal. They have spent too much to just walk away now.
Its not as if the Premier League won't be short of offers for TV deals in the future. This was first brought up in January. They group will be prepared for this.

BeIN isn't just 'Some TV company' Geordie. They are former Al Jazeera Sport - Owned and funded by the Qatari Royal family - Qatar is mega rich.

However the bigger picture is that despite the piracy being blamed on the Saudi's - it was an inside job with a bunch Egyptian engineers and manager currently serving long, very long prison sentences for their crimes against the State of Qatar.

    Rightly So!

However the right and proper has nothing to do with this kind of issue.

If BeIN want to protest, that's fine. It won't stop the sale. If BeIN decide to cancel their contracts or not renew I'm sure one of the Saudi Channels will pick the Middle East Broadcasting Rights for the Premier League matches immediately!

Living over here through out the Blockade and current bad blood with UAE, Saudi, Bahrain & Egypt (who should keep their nose out of Gulf Business) on one side and Qatar on the other, being supported by Turkey, Iran and indirectly the USA (Qatar has the largest coalition military base outside of the USA after Kandahar Afghanistan). It's be interesting with both sides throwing their money around to secure their sovereignty.

    Nothing major. Just tribal politics.

You know a lot about the politics out there than me mate. My point was they are using the TV deal as their angle to try and influence the Premier League.

Yeah but it's like say 'Hey Premier League, we make **** loads of money selling your product. It was stolen from some dodgy guys who worked for us. We can't prove the Saudi's instigated and pay those dodgy guys to pirate our stations & the French Court of Law has thrown out our case but if you don't cancel this deal we'll... We'll... well we'll not renew our contract and weaken our brand as the No.1 Sports broadcast network in the Middle East; losing out to one of our competitors.'

    They don't have any leverage.

But as stated above the right and proper test has thing to do with this complaint. So we are good Geordie.
