    Jamie Redknapp

says nothing much that we didn't know (as per usual), but he is friends with one of the Reubens and says the deal is as good as done.

So this is another thread hoyed up for no other purpose than killing time and waiting for the whole thing to become official.

The Reuben who is at QPR will be one to watch.

If he suddenly resigns from their board for example.

Well as long as he's got the inside track on what the PL is thinking...

The waiting is horrible....and I don't mean in terms of patience but in terms of wondering if there's any leeway in their 'fit and proper' guidelines which would allow them to knock it back.

It seems like there are so many people wanting this to fail and organisations bringing pressure to bear that there must be a feeling in the PL that this could be more hassle than they want.

Put it this way, I don't doubt for a second that there will be people on the panel that makes the final decision who are lobbying for it to be rejected.

i completely agree that the waiting is awful and the influx of people/groups opposed is growing but im not concerned at all.

The Bein sports thing has already been through the courts and it was Quatar's own employees that set up the pirate coverage not the Saudi people.
Bein sports have got a vendetta against the Saudi's

Remember this is actual royal family from Saudi Arabia not a two bit cockney wide boy with tat to sell.

The premier league will be fully aware of the money they want to put into the british game, its a win/win for the EPL to have Newcastle taken over, makes another top top club, excitement for the top 4 etc etc, it will make the premier league a more exciting brand

The process is not in depth at all!

It's just a case of confirming approved documents.

When I had all my documents 'notarised' to attain my Residence Permit for Qatar. I had to prove I was a University graduate and my professional qualifications were genuine. Police background checks from the Police records dept.

I collected all the documents - send them to the foreign office to be stamped - Send them to the Qatari Embassy in London, who stamp and return them - Send them to a solicitor for notary.

Used a service to process the forms for me; it took 10 days to process and 4 days to courier back to and from me in Qatar.

So I would assume that the required info would take about the same amount of time whilst being handled by the lawyers. Covid lock down will slow things down a bit but not that much.

Never forget money talks - 17£ Million deposit has been paid / £300 Million will be paid and the influx of cash into the Premier League is gonna be a massively refreshing force for a brand that this season really has started to feel tired.

Not as much hassle as rejecting it though. £10bn of trade with Saudi and the epl to come out and say it isn't fit and proper. Its happening.

Yes, I guess I'm ignoring the positives it will bring. Getting the Saudis involved could potentially increase the tv deal money massively and with the way things have gone, the PL will want (need?) every penny they can get.

yep, the premier league is all about the money, at the moment its a race to get into the lucrative top 4 and CL for the mega bucks.
Liverpool, Citeh, Spuds, Man Utd, Gunners and Chelsea. 6 clubs all battling it out for the CL places makes it exciting.

Then we have Leicester, Everton, Wolves and even Sheff Utd knocking on the door and capable of displacing any of the other 6.

This means we have 10 teams capable of getting into the CL every season, creating a massive tv revenue, all of which have had massive amounts of money invested.

Now imagine Newcastle get taken over by owners who's wealth dwarfs the entire league combined, Sky will have it as the rise of the sleeping giant all over the globe, the premier league will be rubbing their greedy hands together

Presumably if the takeover happens, they‘ll reverse the staff furlough which was always disgraceful by the fat fùcker. All taxpayers are effectively subsidising NUFC and Jaba the Cünt. It’s bad enough for us but imagine being a fan of another premier league club or Sunderland knowing this going on. So even on that issue alone, the new owners are way more fit & proper than the current tub of lard assuming they do the decent thing.
