They can’t help themselves can they ?

    https://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/...season-2883644

Extract from the above particularly caught my eye which continued a barrage of criticism towards Rick Parry but whilst suggesting that this helped club turn against club, but then couldn’t resist pitiful barbs at both us and Wycombe.

    It reads:
Their (EFL) announcement about how the calculations would be made to decide who was going to compete in the play-offs was typically muddled and of course resulted in one club who were showing relegation form in the six matches before shutdown getting automatic promotion and another who had an even worse run of form over the last 14 games shooting up from 8th to 3rd!

    Relegation form!!
    a) a season is not played over 6 games
    b) real relegation form. We lost 1 in a row!!
    c) actually 2 wins 3 draws and 1 loss. One of those
    draws being at Coventry.
Note to RUFC. Must never lose 1 in a row.

Considering the events that led up to it and also the earlier comments of their own Chairman, where he acknowledged the difficulties in resuming the season for many clubs, this is an awful piece.

This from a reporter of a club who has spent the significant total of three seasons in the Championship in the 60 years since they were elected to the Football League!!!

Extract: Our football club has, in our opinion acted honourably, and in the right way

No mention of health implications or costs to complete the season so at least they're consistent

I do agree with the underlying premise of the article that the EFL have not managed the situation very well

So where is the flood of legal proceedings that was threatened?

Not exactly a flood of proceedings however Mark Palios looks like he's taking legal advice on suing the EFL.

Last 6 games for us, last 14 games for Wycombe. Pick the number of games that suits your agenda?
To be fair they are only the whingings of a supporters group. Unreasonable to expect any objective reasoning

I have a friend who is a Posh fan.

Hes outraged and went to the great length of calling me after the announcement to get my take on it.

Hes not angry at us, but he was under the impression we had been dropping every point we played for which is not true.

He also forgot about the 4-0 reaming they received at the NYS.

Sunderland fans are equally salt ridden at the moment.
