Just seeing some pictures of a train derailment near Stonehaven. Hoping it's not as serious as it looks.

Looks horrendous. Reports of the driver and one other killed. Maybe fortunate with that low number. Maybe the fact we are in lockdown and the train had not had many stops meant it was pretty empty.
Three dead apparently.
Seen some pictures, looked horrendous.
Thank fu ck the train was nae busy otherwise the death toll would've been off the scale.
Without sounding like the armchair investigators that are so common these days, a few questions have been raised. This was the early morning service, 6.30ish so why did it take until about 9am before any emergency call was made? A distance of around 20 miles was all that was covered.
Quite possibly there was some trouble on the lines before this which held them up for some time so why, given that no trains would have travelled before to give any update on track condition, was this train travelling at a considerable speed.
Sounds like it got so far, but had to stop, presumably for a considerable time. Reported (on the BBC) to have then reversed up the tracks it came through to a place it could switch tracks. It switched tracks and continued South.
It’s not been the best year so far.
That sun report is an utter disgrace.
